We heard this over and over again back in 2006 and early 2007 when we were just opening Jaynes. Times sure have changed and this past year has seen a tidal wave of "Gastropub" openings. Maureen Clancy has a great feature in today's Union Tribune about what she calls the "Gastropub Phenomenon" and features Jayne as San Diego's pioneering pub mistress alongside some excellent new places like our good friend Nate Stanton's Craft and Commerce.
